Mr. Economus has a Bachelors Degree (1971) and Masters Degree from Case Western Reserve University (1972) and a Law Degree from the University of Akron School of Law (1977). Mr. Economus is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, Cleveland Bar Association, Akron Bar Association, The Association of Trial Lawyers of America, The Ohio Academy of Trial Attorneys, and The Cleveland Academy of Trial Attorneys where he is a Trustee.
Mr. Economus is a Board Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. Lawyers who are certified as specialists have been recognized by independent professional certifying organizations as having an enhanced level of skill, as well as substantial involvement in established legal specialty areas. Certifying organizations require lawyers to demonstrate special training, experience and knowledge to ensure that recognition as a certified specialist is meaningful and reliable. There are thousands of lawyers in Ohio but fewer than 200 are Board Certified Civil Trial Specialists.
Mr. Economus has been involved at all levels of trial and appellate practice including practice before the Ohio Supreme Court. He has handled hundreds of personal injury and wrongful death cases involving automobile accidents, defective products (including asbestos litigation), animal bite cases, uninsured and underinsured motorists cases, medical malpractice cases and premises liability (slip and fall) cases.
